Most Powerful new Ford Unveiled!

The numbers are in! Ford has announced the stats on the 2020 Mustang Shelby. Previously Ford promised that the upcoming GT500 would be the most powerful car on the market at launch in 2020, however, they didn’t really clarify what that meant.

Last week, after the announcement in January, came the engine specs: the supercharged V8 will produce 760 horsepower and 625 lb.-ft of torque. The transmission of choice to shift all that power will be a Tremec seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. So far, there is no manual option available.

Ford says the quarter-mile time will be under 11 seconds. It's 0-60 mph time will be a little over three seconds. Featured in the new Shelby is a carbon fiber driveshaft, MagneRde dampers, big Brembo 16.5-inch rotors with six-piston calipers, an active valve exhaust system, and a 12-inch LCD digital instrument cluster.

The big claim by Ford is that, these numbers make the engine "the most power- and torque-dense supercharged production V8 engine in the world" as well as making the 2020 GT500 "the most powerful street-legal Ford ever." The power output is expected to exceed that of Dodge's Challenger SRT Hellcat.

The 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is set to launch this fall. The price it now yet known, however, the 2019 Shelby starts at $59,150 with a less powerful engine, the price of the 2020 is expected to be higher.
